Dulcie Edis: There is nothing you can do but hope there is a slot. There aren't many slots, that's all there is too it. You could wait for awhile to see if a slot opens up if you want though.
Jerrod Guilfoil: You need to note, that most animal care specialist, do NOT work around animals. Most of them are meat inspecters. They are either out at factories that produce food for the military inspecting, or inspecting food after it is shipped to the Army...Show more
Basil Blasingame: Thanks for all of the answers. I'm thinking my best bet is just to score as well as I can on the asvab. And I understand that not all animal care jobs may deal with animals, but there's actually a separate job called a veterinary food inspection specialist that inspects food for human consumption so hopefully I won't end up having to do that haha. Thanks everyone! And thanks for not be incredibly rude like everyone was on my last question.
Jacques Vaquera: there is nothing you can! do to increase your chances.. it will either be available, or it won't. and no it is not often available as there is not a huge need for them.
Donny Bankson: Like others said, there might not be any slots available...surprisingly when I went to meps back in June this job was available but I laughed it off because it sounded silly being a guy. Score well on the science part of the ASVAB or you will not get it. Since your in high school though, you will most likely be able to reserve a slot. They're more open when it comes to high schoolers
