Rebbecca Sorkin: More aquatic plants! That is really the best way to control algae in a pond. That one lily won't do much of anything but the more plants you have in the pond the more the algae will have to compete for nutrients and will eventually die off. Loriann Carrigan: Have you tried barley bales? In case you haven't, barley bales, when allowed to decompose in an area of high oxygen concentration, can have algal-reducing properties.You could also try a UV sterilizer. You would have to get a large one to run on a pond, but the high -intensity UV exposure will cut down on green water.Also, more live plants to remove nutrients in the water that feed your algal blooms. I don't know how often you do partial water changes, but more of these will help also....Show more
