Boating Safety Course Online?

Lia Argall: I just took it in NY it ran me 60$ and 8 hrs to complete search on google in some states you can take it online

Idell Syed: I took the Coast Guard Auxiliary Boat and Basic Seamanship course in a group setting with a classroom type testing atmosphere. Certificate of completion and course sections passed was all I got as there is (was) no license required to pilot a boat in Michigan as long as the individual driving is over a certain age. ( I think 16, but it may be 18 ) in which case all you need is a certificate that states you passed any safe boating class class whether it was coast guard,! power squadron or local sheriff. That said, the classroom interaction between teacher and class can not be over stressed. So I believe face to face makes for a better education. Not to mention, that especially when it comes to navigation, giving the assignment to groups, I believe, leads to a better understanding of the subject and almost leads to the students teaching each other....Show more
