Christiane Cattano: I'm allowing the router to assign the DHCP numbers. No local proxy server. These computers have all worked before, and have gotten addresses from the router. Lan connections: automatically detect settings, no config script, no proxy serverThese computers have connected to the internet before. They just stopped working all of a sudden. A little more information: Skype and a Logitech webcam were active (and recently installed, about 2 weeks ago) on two of the three computers. The third one, however, did not have either installed on it (its a media center PC) but it likewise does not work. As I said, though, the laptop will work and connect to the internet. Thanks again...Show more
Mohamed Szollosi: More information is needed. Are you allowing the router to provide DHCP services and assign IP Numbers or do you have a separate DHCP server?Do you route your outbound Internet traffic through a local proxy server or is it straight through?Do these three ! computers ever get an IP address from the DNS Server? What are the lan connections settings like in your browser setup.Have these computers ever connected to the network and the internet before or is this a new installation? Please respond with more details.Added Notes:Perhaps the best thing to do is to replace one of the Ethernet cards in one of the computers. See if it's possible that all three cards have gone out.I suppose it's possible that some voltage spike got on the line and killed them all. I've heard of it once when a lightning storm passed one of our offices. It's pretty far fetched but worth a shot.If the one replacement works, then we should move it to each of the other pcs in turn and try it there. This will eliminate any problem with the card slots.Leaving only the cards themselves as the suspect.Good luck....Show more
