Thomas Riner: I had to study abroad for a semester in an English-speaking country. I knew the British Isles, and had little or no interest to go to the US, so I chose Australia. I studied in Sydney, at the Macquarie University. It was a useful experience, and I have matured a lot during these four months. I also learned a lot about making new friends and living on a (very tight) budget. I have broadened my cultural horizon, so to speak. Australia is completely different from Germany, and especially Sydney is so multicultural - believe me, I had a hard time adjusting to my new surroundings! Studying abroad is a fantastic experience. ! You will get to know new things, experience new perspectives, and enjoy new ways of thinking. Australia is a great place to do it because it is incredibly beautiful, the people are very friendly, and the universities are among the best world-wide. Plus, it looks fantastic on any CV. Go for it....Show more
Luis Mellon: I decided to study in Copenhagen becasue I wanted to go somewhere that not a lot of people had gone to before but I needed them to speak English.I wanted to study abroad becasue I wanted to have the chance to go somewhere on my own and prove to myself that I could do it.Also, people always say that going abraod lets you see how other cultures approach life. I know that I realized that people in Denmark are a lot less stressed then Americans. They view their job as a way to make money to do the things they want and not as a way of definging themselves and I have to admit that it affected the way i look at life. Instead of stressing about not finding th! e perfect job I just enjoy what my job does give me.I thank Go! d everyday that I decided to study abroad. It was 4 of the best months in my life...Show more
